In November of 2016, the Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association International (RIMA-I) established the Alexander Schwartz Award. This award is presented to a person or entity that has motivated industry representatives, contributed significantly to and advanced the reflective products industry and RIMA International and the acceptance of reflective products in the overall marketplace. This award is only presented when deemed a candidate is worthy of such recognition.
RIMA International held their Spring meetings April 7-8, 2022, in Nashville, Tennessee. At the conclusion of the meetings, member Dale Tolkarski of Reflectix, Inc., took the floor to share background and personal anecdotes on our latest award recipient. Membership Committee Chairman Dan Russell, prepared a video presentation that was played for all in attendance. President Sergio Luconi then took the floor to present the 2022 Alexander Schwartz Award to Mr. Monty Millapugh.
For the last thirty years, Mr. Millspaugh has worked in various roles at Reflectix, Inc. including sales, marketing, operations and research and development. He was one of the original members of their Board of Directors, serving for many years, and is currently the Vice President of Technical Service. He continues to represent Reflectix at the Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association International (RIMA-I) as co-chairman of the Technical Committee, Director on the RIMA-I Board and serving on the Past Presidents Advisory Council. He has represented both Reflectix and RIMA-I at American Society of Testing and Materials International (ASTM) both at C16 Thermal Insulation and E5 Fire Safety. He is active in code development as a member of the International Code Council (ICC). He is also a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
RIMA International is pleased to recognize Mr. Monty Millspaugh for all he has contributed on behalf of this organization and the industry it represents throughout his professional career. The industry has benefited greatly from his efforts.
