The Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association International (RIMA-I) met along with ASTM’s C16 meetings in New Orleans, Louisiana. RIMA-I’s meetings were held immediately following ASTM on October 19-20 at the Sheraton New Orleans.
Committees met throughout the day on Wednesday, including the Advanced Building Code Coalition, Technical, Strategic Alliance, Verification, International Conference, PR/Marketing/Membership and the new Sustainability Task Group. The day concluded with a special happy hour sponsored by Polyplex in a private room at Luke restaurant in downtown New Orleans. Immediately following was the group dinner offering several delicious regional favorites. It was a great evening of networking, relationship building and an overall great time.
Thursday began with the full Membership Meeting where committee chairs give summaries of the prior day’s discussions and tasks. Retiring Directors Mark Lovan, of Echo Tape and Mike Boulding of Soprema were recognized for their two-year term on the Board of Directors.
Nominations for these positions were taken from the floor. Elections will be held following the meeting via electronic ballot. Other association business was also conducted. After breaking for a group brunch, keynote speaker, William Paddock, of WAP Sustainability Consultants in Nashville, Tennessee, gave an excellent presentation on “Sustainability and Carbon”.
